Ryan Haugo

Ryan acquired the love of welding and fabrication from his father Tom. He had a welding hood on from about the age of 13 helping to fix farm machinery, build hydraulic doors, and fabricate horse stanchions. After high school in Bottineau, ND he attended Welding Technology at NDSCS in Wahpeton, ND. Upon graduation in 2000 he got a job as pipe welder for Grant’s Mechanical in Fargo, ND. From then on, he learned the pipe trades from some great people along the way. In 2007 he got an opportunity to work on the WAGP (West African Gas Pipeline) project as a Mechanical Foreman in Nigeria for Willbros out of Houston, TX. Once back in the states he was hired as a pipe welder for Wanzek Construction building Tharaldson Ethanol in Casselton, ND. In 2009 he started Midwest Ironworks as a single man operation. He hired his brother Riley as a pipe welder/fitter the first year and they have been building the crew ever since. Drawing on past experience, industry contacts, and colleagues made over his career, he and his team have been able to build a premier piping and millwright company over the last 15 years. Great people make great companies and Ryan is very appreciative of all of the people that have helped build Midwest Ironworks into what it is today.
